Indiana’s vibrant industrial economy relies on forklifts to optimize operations. Heavy-duty lead-acid and lithium-ion batteries from Green Power Forklift Batteries can withstand the demanding conditions of the material handling industry, delivering reliable power throughout the workday.
We offer new and refurbished forklift batteries. New batteries offer many benefits, such as access to 100 percent of the battery’s capacity and all-new components.
When the forklift battery nears the end of its lifecycle, you can have it refurbished. Our reconditioning process is an eco-friendly method that maximizes the battery’s useability.
You can choose between lead-acid and lithium-ion forklift batteries when you shop with us. The best solution for your facility depends on your budget and factors related to business operations, such as the number of shifts you run in a workday.
Lead-acid batteries have a life cycle of up to 1,500 charge cycles. They require watering to maintain the electrolyte level of sulfuric acid and water.
In contrast, lithium-ion batteries have a lifecycle of up to 2,000 to 3,000 charge cycles. Unlike lead-acid batteries, lithium-ion batteries can remain in the vehicle while connected to the charger, eliminating the need to create a separate charging station.
Another advantage of lithium-ion batteries is that they do not require watering because they are sealed shut. Eliminating watering makes charging safer because you do not risk splashing sulfuric acid.
Lead-acid batteries have a lower purchase price than lithium-ion batteries. Refurbished forklift batteries offer an even greater purchase price advantage.
We refurbish our batteries using an extensive 18-stage reconditioning process. We start with an inspection to determine any issues, including acid loss, corrosion, and inter-cell connector problems.
After testing and diagnosis, we perform an equalization charge. If the equalization charge is not sufficient, we consider other options, including doing a cell change if necessary.
The next broad step we take is to maximize the battery’s capacity. At the end of these processes, we do a final capacity load test to ensure the cells perform equally well and the forklift battery has an acceptable capacity.
Finally, we fully charge the battery, sand the casing, paint it, and wrap it in a protective film for shipping. After all these steps, the refurbished battery has a minimum of 85 percent of the rated capacity of brand-new forklift batteries!
